At a glance

  • Jeff Gordon leads Oval Insider’s June 30, 2026 all-time ranking with nine NASCAR Cup road-course wins, ahead of Tony Stewart and Shane van Gisbergen on eight.
  • Chase Elliott follows with seven; Bobby Allison, Ricky Rudd, Kyle Larson and Rusty Wallace have six apiece.
  • Three drivers share ninth on five wins, so preserving the ties means including 11 names.

Jeff Gordon leads the all-time NASCAR Cup Series road-course winners in this source snapshot.

The list below follows Oval Insider’s published order and includes street-course victories. It represents that June 30 snapshot, rather than a tally of wins during the 2026 season.

First: Jeff Gordon — nine wins

Gordon built his entire total at Sonoma and Watkins Glen. Sonoma supplies the larger share, with five victories, while his four at Watkins Glen complete the leading tally. His advantage over the joint runners-up is a single win.

Joint second: Tony Stewart and Shane van Gisbergen — eight wins

Tony Stewart also accumulated his victories at those two venues, but Watkins Glen was his stronger contributor: five wins there and three at Sonoma. That reverses the balance of Gordon’s record, despite leaving Stewart one victory short overall.

Shane van Gisbergen has the broader winning footprint. His eight comprise two each at Chicago Street Course, Sonoma and Watkins Glen, plus one at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and one at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval. Chicago’s inclusion matters: this ranking counts street-course success alongside road-course victories.

Fourth: Chase Elliott — seven wins

Elliott’s total spans five venues. He has two victories apiece at Watkins Glen and the Charlotte Roval, with single wins at Circuit of the Americas, Daytona’s road course and Road America. Unlike Gordon and Stewart, his tally extends well beyond Sonoma and Watkins Glen; Sonoma contributes none of his listed seven.

Joint fifth: Allison, Rudd, Larson and Wallace — six wins

Bobby Allison has the most concentrated record in this group: all six victories listed by Oval Insider came at Riverside.

Ricky Rudd divided his six evenly between Riverside, Sonoma and Watkins Glen. FirstSportz’s historical account places his Riverside wins in 1983 and 1985, Watkins Glen successes in 1988 and 1990, and Sonoma victories in 1989 and 2002—a record stretching across nearly two decades.

Kyle Larson also has three pairs of victories, but with a different circuit mix: two at the Charlotte Roval, two at Sonoma and two at Watkins Glen.

Rusty Wallace matches Rudd’s two-each distribution at Riverside, Sonoma and Watkins Glen. FirstSportz records his Watkins Glen wins in 1987 and 1989, Riverside victories in 1987 and 1988, and Sonoma successes in 1990 and 1996.

Joint ninth: Richmond, Waltrip and Truex — five wins

Tim Richmond earned four of his five victories at Riverside and the other at Watkins Glen. Darrell Waltrip’s entire five-win tally came at Riverside, making him another driver whose place rests on repeated success at one venue.

Martin Truex Jr. reached the same total through four Sonoma victories and one at Watkins Glen. Those equal five-win records leave Richmond, Waltrip and Truex sharing ninth; selecting only two would introduce a distinction the win totals do not support.
