Aprilia has showcased the limited-edition RSV4 Obscure Spe.Ed. superbike alongside competition-inspired production motorcycles at the EICMA 2026 trade exhibition in Milan, Italy. Positioned in Hall 9, Stand E76 under parent entity Piaggio Group's wider display previewing commercial updates for the 2027 selling season, the headline machine incorporates aerodynamic profiles and chassis developments taken directly from Aprilia Racing's MotoGP championship programme.
RSV4 Obscure Spe.Ed. Technical Specifications
Global manufacturing of the RSV4 Obscure Spe.Ed. is restricted to a build volume of 500 units. The flagship superbike relies on a four-cylinder V4 engine delivering 220 hp. Extensive integration of structural carbon fibre throughout the body panels and wheel rims pares ready-to-ride curb weight down to 201 kg. Customers can shed further mass to reach 196 kg by fitting an available full Aprilia Racing Technology exhaust assembly coupled with a carbon-fibre SC Project rear silencer.
MotoGP Aerodynamic Technology and Öhlins Suspension
A focal technical development on the RSV4 Obscure Spe.Ed. is the fitment of carbon-fibre 'Leg Wings.' These specialized aerodynamic devices were previously tested on Aprilia Racing's RS-GP prototype machine in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Aprilia shaped the winglets to generate usable aerodynamic downforce without diminishing overall cornering agility, targeting enhanced stability and elevated performance during circuit track riding. Chassis damping is provided by fully mechanical Öhlins suspension hardware. The front end utilizes NIX forks, whereas the rear assembly features a TTX shock absorber, with both units furnishing manual adjustment parameters covering spring preload, compression, and rebound behavior.
RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute
Accompanying the high-power V4 reveal, Aprilia presented the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute, a dedicated limited-run model honouring Australia's Phillip Island Circuit. The commemorative twin-cylinder sport bike adopts a tricolour white, green, and red visual aesthetic inspired by the venue's circuit identity. Its exterior features the Phillip Island Circuit logo, chequered flag iconography, and graphics cataloguing Aprilia's historical race victories at the Australian venue. A passenger seat cover is supplied as standard factory equipment, and each motorcycle has its individual sequence number engraved on the steering head plate.
2027 Factory Series Liveries
Aprilia additionally updated its broader sport motorcycle range by introducing refreshed liveries across its 2027 Factory family. Covering the RSV4, Tuono V4, RS 660, and Tuono 660, the line receives an 'aPRC Backbone' styling package. The graphic theme combines contrasting red and black tones designed to visually illustrate the intricate electronic rider control architecture wired through the motorcycle.
