New Model Unveiling at EICMA 2026
Suzuki has presented the 2027 GSX-10R at EICMA 2026, introducing a new four-cylinder sport motorcycle that combines the mechanical foundation of the GSX-S1000 with the philosophy and technology of the GSX-R family. Rather than creating another extreme superbike dedicated solely to track usage, the manufacturer introduced a sport motorcycle designed to offer high performance alongside everyday usability.
K5-Derived Four-Cylinder Powertrain
The foundation of the motorcycle is a 999 cc inline four-cylinder engine derived from the renowned K5 unit of the GSX-R1000, which remains a landmark in Suzuki's history. For the GSX-10R, the engine is evolved from the version utilized in the GSX-S1000, modified to match the specific character of the new machine. The liquid-cooled DOHC four-cylinder unit generates 152 hp at 11,000 rpm and 106 Nm of torque at 9,250 rpm, utilizing cylinder bore and stroke dimensions of 73.4 mm by 59 mm with a 12.2:1 compression ratio.
Engine Revisions and Euro 5+ Exhaust
Suzuki focused on deliverable linearity and power control while maintaining the traditional operational characteristics of a high-revving four-cylinder engine. Engineering updates to the unit include alterations to the exhaust valve seats, revised lubrication circuits, and enhancements to the camshaft chain operation, aimed at greater reliability and reduced mechanical noise. The exhaust system has also been redesigned to comply with Euro 5+ emissions standards, directing drive through a six-speed gearbox fitted with an assist-and-slipper clutch and a standard bidirectional quickshifter.
Twin-Spar Aluminium Chassis
Chassis construction features a twin-spar aluminium frame paired with a newly designed aluminium swingarm. Geometry specifications include a 1,455 mm wheelbase, a 25-degree caster angle, and 100 mm of trail. Wet weight with full fluids is listed at 214 kg, while the seat height measures 810 mm.
Fully Adjustable Suspension Hardware
Front suspension uses an inverted 43 mm KYB fork equipped with adjustments for spring preload, compression, and rebound damping. At the rear, a new linkage-driven suspension setup is also fully adjustable, featuring independent adjustments for high-speed and low-speed shock compression damping.
Superbike Ergonomics and Lean Angle
The riding position adopts the geometry of the GSX-R1000R. Clip-on handlebars, a sculpted fuel tank, and a flat seat facilitate body movement during leaning. Modifications to footpeg positioning and peripheral components allow an available lean angle of approximately 53 degrees, compared to 48 degrees on the GSX-S1000. Wheels measure 17 inches with 120/70 front and 190/55 rear tyres, supported by twin front discs with a radial brake master cylinder and an electronically controlled steering damper.
Six-Axis IMU and Electronic Assistance
The GSX-10R features the most extensive rider assistance suite Suzuki has deployed on a motorcycle. Anchored by a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit, the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System integrates 15 individual functions. Riders have access to three power maps (A, B, and C) with varied throttle response, along with 10-level traction control that can be turned off. Notable dynamic controls include a new Slide Control system managing lateral rear-wheel slide, working with Roll Torque Control to adjust drive power according to lean angle. Additional systems include front-wheel lift control, three-level Launch Control, adjustable engine braking, and Cornering ABS.
Road Convenience and Aerodynamics
For everyday riding, standard equipment includes cruise control with automatic speed adaptation when entering turns, an active speed limiter, start assistance, and Brake Hold, which can keep the motorcycle stationary after coming to a stop on flat ground or declines. Aerodynamic styling directly reflects the GSX-R line, incorporating a sharp front cowl, a narrow profile, and aerodynamic winglets integrated into the fairing, developed in a wind tunnel to enhance high-speed stability and rider wind protection.
Display Technology and Market Position
Cockpit technology includes a colour TFT screen, Suzuki Ride Connect+ application connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, notifications, and a USB-C port. The fuel tank capacity is 18 litres, with Suzuki quoting an average fuel consumption figure of 6.3 litres per 100 km under the WMTC standard. Offered in three colour schemes—blue/silver, red/grey, and grey/black—the GSX-10R occupies a space between naked sport roadsters and dedicated superbikes, emphasizing accessible performance without departing from Suzuki's GSX-R engineering heritage.
