EICMA Unveiling and Performance Specifications
CFMOTO has confirmed specifications at the EICMA show in Milan for the V4SR-RR, announcing that the sport motorcycle promises more than 210 hp and a dry weight of approximately 180 kg from a 997 cc V4 engine, according to reporting by MCN. Alongside the standard version, CFMOTO plans to display the V4SR-RR Carbon Black at EICMA, which the manufacturer describes as an extreme, track-oriented variant equipped with dedicated components and accessories designed to enhance performance. Final confirmation of equipment and technical specifications remains pending from CFMOTO, with neither retail pricing nor a commercial release date announced.
Independent Active Aerodynamics
A primary technical highlight of the machine is its active aerodynamic package, which utilizes movable wings that operate independently rather than copying one another's motion. Each individual wing is actuated by its own servomotor, a layout CFMOTO presents as the first application of independently moving active wings on a production motorcycle, according to reporting by Motociclismo. The brand claims that this active aerodynamic system provides a 20 percent increase in front-wheel downforce immediately prior to braking from 160 km/h when measured against fixed wings. At higher velocities, the surfaces can assume differing angles relative to each other to help the motorcycle change direction.
Dynamic Wing Angles and Patent Details
Patent filings outlined by MCN in June demonstrate how the aerodynamic surfaces adjust across varying operational phases. Under acceleration, the wings remain nearly horizontal. As the motorcycle reaches higher speeds, the surfaces elevate to angles between 10 degrees and 20 degrees to promote stability. Under hard braking conditions, the wings can deploy to steeper positions ranging from 45 degrees to 90 degrees to assist deceleration.
V4 Engine Architecture and Valve Actuation
The 997 cc powerplant developed by CFMOTO is a 90-degree V4 featuring a MotoGP-style counter-rotating crankshaft and titanium connecting rods manufactured by Austrian specialist Pankl. The engine's stated rev limit of 15,000 rpm exceeds by 500 rpm the 14,500 rpm threshold announced for the earlier prototype. According to MCN's examination of engine patent documentation, the unit incorporates variable-length intake runners and finger-follower valve actuation. The patents also describe a structural layout similar to Ducati's approach, using the engine as a stressed member mated to a short front frame section that is cast and bolted directly to the cylinder heads.
Project Genesis and Prototype Testing
The development programme was initially unveiled at EICMA in 2024 through the presentation of the "V.04 Master of Speed" engine, which was followed at the next edition by a complete prototype. Exhibited on a rotating turntable, that prototype was ranked by MCN among the most popular reveals at the trade exhibition. The project subsequently advanced with patent filings and publicised test imagery, including Moto2 rider David Alonso riding a development machine in China.
Chassis Hardware and Carbon Black Variant
Beyond the engine and aerodynamic assemblies, the disclosed equipment list specifies fully adjustable frame geometry, Öhlins suspension, and Brembo Hypure Sport brake calipers. Road contact is managed through Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 tyres, while exhaust gases route through an exhaust system constructed entirely from titanium by Akrapovič. CFMOTO notes that full details and equipment for both the standard V4SR-RR and the track-focused Carbon Black variant remain subject to final corporate confirmation.
