LN4 Fusion, the new racing outfit co-founded by Lando Norris, has been selected to join the Formula 2 Championship grid for the 2027 season. The entry confirmation arrives only weeks after the organisation formally announced its foundation, marking a crucial step forward ahead of its inaugural year of competitive racing.
Junior Single-Seater Expansion
Since launching in September 2026, the team has reported significant progress in building its infrastructure, hiring personnel, and obtaining entry commitments across several junior single-seater categories. Formula 2 served as the final and most critical phase of that initial preparation. Alongside its newly secured F2 presence, LN Fusion will compete in the Italian Formula 4 Championship, the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC), and FIA Formula 3 in 2027. The organisation is also pursuing plans to establish a British Formula 4 programme, while evaluating a potential future effort in German Formula 4 as that series returns next year.
Long-Term Feeder Pathway
LN4 Fusion chief executive Dan Richards described the selection as a major milestone and an important stride toward realizing the project's foundational vision. Richards explained that the guiding ambition from the beginning has been to construct a competitive, sustainable organisation featuring a clearly defined development ladder for drivers and an environment where talented personnel can thrive. Within that vision, Richards framed Formula 2 as the central pillar, representing the ultimate and most demanding proving ground before Formula 1.
Operational Foundations and Next Steps
Securing a place on the feeder series grid so soon after the team's debut was praised by Richards as a significant achievement reflecting the hard work of everyone involved. Nevertheless, he noted that joining the category is "only the beginning," with the outfit conscious of the high competitive standard awaiting them. Richards stated that the group is now fully focused on establishing solid foundations, recruiting exceptional staff, and providing drivers and crew members with optimal conditions to race at the top level. He also expressed gratitude to Bruno Michel, the FIA, and the Formula 2 organisation for placing their trust in the project.
LN4 Fusion also appears in our separate report on the expanded 2027 FIA FREC grid.
