Viking Motorsports has finalized its driver and leadership lineup for the 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season, confirming that Anthony Alfredo and Parker Retzlaff will both return to the Mooresville, North Carolina-based organization. Alfredo will continue behind the wheel of the No. 96 Chevrolet alongside crew chief Josh Graham, while Retzlaff will pilot the No. 99 Chevrolet with crew chief Danny Efland. By preserving both driver and crew chief pairings, the outfit aims to build directly upon the foundations established during its productive 2026 campaign.
With two races remaining on the 2026 schedule, both entries have delivered notable statistical results. The No. 96 team, originally assembled in December 2025, has accumulated three top-five finishes and 10 top-10 results across its first season of competition. As Alfredo and Graham have developed chemistry throughout the calendar, the pairing intends to carry their late-season execution into next year. On the sister car, the No. 99 program earned a place in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase during only its second full-time campaign, with Retzlaff securing four top-five finishes and 12 top-10 results to date.
Viking Motorsports team owner Don Sackett highlighted stability across both squads as a primary objective entering 2027. Sackett noted that both groups demonstrated substantial capability throughout the year, commending the No. 96 crew’s progression across the second half of the calendar and the No. 99 unit’s rapid ascent to postseason contention in its sophomore year. Explaining that “continuity matters in this sport,” Sackett affirmed that retaining the four key figures provides the necessary groundwork to drive the organization forward.
Both drivers echoed that enthusiasm regarding the stability of their respective crews. Alfredo observed that the No. 96 program has developed significantly since its establishment last December, pointing to his prior working relationship with Graham and the collective effort of the crew. He indicated that recent track performance demonstrates the team’s trajectory, adding that taking positive momentum into the upcoming offseason is crucial. Retzlaff expressed gratitude to team leadership for the opportunity to return, describing 2026 as the finest season of his career and crediting the personnel around him. While qualifying for the Chase fulfilled a major objective, Retzlaff emphasized that the group remains unsatisfied, noting that existing familiarity will strengthen their efforts in 2027. Viking Motorsports indicated that additional information regarding its commercial partners will be released later in the season.
