Senna Family Estate Visit
Kimi Antonelli visited the Senna family farm on Tuesday, November 3, where he had the opportunity to enter a black-and-gold Lotus driven by Ayrton Senna in Formula 1. The Mercedes driver, newly crowned 2026 champion, was photographed in the cockpit of the number 12 car alongside Bruno and Bianca Senna, the nephew and niece of the three-time Brazilian champion, with other people also accompanying him during the visit.
Tribute and Number 12 Choice
The gathering took place in the week of the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos, carrying special significance because of Antonelli's admiration for Senna. The young Italian uses the number 12 in his Formula 1 career, a choice that also represents a tribute to the Brazilian driver, and sitting inside the Lotus cockpit alongside members of Senna's family made that homage even more concrete.
Historic Lotus Cockpit
In the photograph shared on social media, Antonelli appears seated in the cockpit of the Lotus with the historic black-and-gold John Player Special livery. The car displays the number 12 on its front section, alongside sponsor brands that formed part of its visual identity, positioned centrally in a covered area of the property.
Title Triumph in Mexico
The visit took place only two days after Antonelli secured his first Formula 1 championship. The Mercedes driver sealed the title with third position in the Mexico Grand Prix, becoming the youngest champion in the history of the category at 20 years of age. Even with the right to use the number 1 next season, the Italian has already expressed his intention to continue competing with the number 12, preserving the bond with his idol and the beginning of his journey in single-seaters.
Interlagos Preparations
Antonelli arrives at Interlagos as champion to contest the Brazilian Grand Prix between November 6 and 8. The visit to the Senna family farm adds a special moment to his stay in the country before returning to the track with Mercedes.
