Ferrari Evaluates Recent Trajectory Ahead of Interlagos
Ferrari enters the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix encouraged by confirmation that its performance is progressing in the right direction, according to team principal Frederic Vasseur. The Maranello-based squad heads to Interlagos after fielding machinery capable of challenging for victory across each of the previous three consecutive race weekends, even though the team failed to secure a win across Singapore, Austin, and Mexico City.
Missed Opportunities Across Recent Three Rounds
Across that recent triple sequence, specific setbacks prevented the Italian outfit from standing on the top step of the podium. At Marina Bay, the opportunity for victory slipped away during qualifying and proved particularly costly off the starting line. During the subsequent round at COTA, something was lacking on Saturday to enable Ferrari to fight on equal terms against the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli. Most recently in Mexico, the two Ferrari drivers compromised the final outcome by damaging each other during the opening lap, discarding what had appeared to be a probable one-two finish.
Championship Standings and Concluding Targets
With both world championship titles already virtually decided, Ferrari is practically assured of its standing in the teams' championship. Consequently, the primary objective for the Scuderia throughout this final portion of the season is to collect as many race victories as possible, while potentially seeing Lewis Hamilton or Charles Leclerc achieve strong results in the drivers' standings.
Interlagos Demands and Operational Focus
Previewing the upcoming weekend at Interlagos, Vasseur explained that the team welcomed returning to track action less than a week after the race in Mexico, where Ferrari confirmed it is heading in "the right direction in terms of performance." Looking ahead to the Brazilian circuit, Vasseur noted that Interlagos represents a demanding venue featuring a very short lap, multiple elevation changes, and a broad variety of corners, alongside weather conditions that can introduce heightened unpredictability. To maximize its chances, Vasseur explained that the squad will look to build competitiveness session by session and maintain strict focus to capitalize on every available opportunity.
