The 2026 FIA GT World Cup has a provisional 18-car entry for Macau, with a record eight manufacturers represented. The event runs from 19 to 22 November on the 6.120-kilometre Guia Circuit. Sunday’s Main Race will decide the winner of the ninth edition.
The FIA’s entry announcement lists Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche. Aston Martin returns to the field, while Porsche supplies the most cars. The list remains provisional ahead of race week.
Who is entered for the 2026 FIA GT World Cup?
Porsche has four 911 GT3 R entries. Thomas Preining and Alessio Picariello race for Tempo by Absolute Racing. Dorian Boccolacci joins Absolute Racing, while Laurin Heinrich drives for AO by Absolute Racing.
BMW brings three M4 GT3 EVOs. Team WRT fields Kelvin van der Linde in number 31 and Raffaele Marciello in number 32. Team KRC enters Augusto Farfus in number 89. Van der Linde returns to Macau for the first time since 2019.
Mercedes-AMG also has three cars. Craft-Bamboo Racing pairs Maro Engel’s number 77 with Adderly Fong’s number 76. Lucas Auer drives the number 711 car for Tigani Motorsport. The manufacturer missed the 2025 race over concerns about preparation and the cost of mandatory torque sensors.
Ferrari returns as the winning manufacturer after Antonio Fuoco’s 2025 victory. Fuoco took pole position and won both the Qualification Race and Main Race. This year, Alessio Rovera drives the number 83 Ferrari for 33R HAR Racing. Yifei Ye takes the number 96 entry for Winhere Harmony Racing.
Aston Martin’s two-car return comes through Comtoyou Racing. Marco Sørensen drives number 7, with Jamie Day in number 24. Both use the Vantage AMR GT3 EVO.
Audi has two R8 LMS GT3 EVO II entries. Earl Bamber joins Audi Sport Asia Team Absolute, and Joel Eriksson represents Phantom Global Racing. Luca Engstler drives the sole Lamborghini for Absolute Corse. Benjamin Goethe completes the eight-brand field in Optimum Motorsport’s McLaren.
The full entry rundown from Pit Debrief details these team and driver combinations. Across the grid, the 18 drivers represent 13 nations and territories on five continents.
Three past winners return to Macau
Engel, Marciello and Farfus have five FIA GT World Cup wins between them. Engel won in 2015 and 2024; Marciello took the title in 2019 and 2023. Farfus won for BMW in 2018.
Bamber adds experience from a previous Macau podium, alongside championship success in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA. Those records provide useful context, but they do not make the result predictable. Macau is a short street-race contest with little room to recover from an error.
Track position matters on the barrier-lined Guia Circuit. Long straights create chances to attack, but narrow sections limit where cars can run side by side. Our guide to circuit features that affect overtaking explains the wider relationship between layout and passing opportunities.
What changes with the new Silver Cup?
The meeting marks 20 years since the FIA introduced the GT3 category in 2006. It also adds a Silver Cup within the FIA GT World Cup. Silver is an FIA driver rating; the new award recognises the leading driver in that group.
The FIA’s event overview sets out a dedicated podium ceremony and a share of a USD 22,000 prize fund for the top Silver finisher. The provisional field contains 10 Platinum-rated drivers, six Gold-rated drivers and two Silver-rated drivers.
Fans can watch free coverage on the FIA’s official YouTube channel. The GT race forms part of the 73rd Macau Grand Prix week. The same meeting also hosts the FIA Formula Regional World Cup, FIA Formula 4 World Cup and Kumho FIA TCR World Tour.
