CFMOTO unveiled its first superbike, the V4SR-RR, on Tuesday during the EICMA exhibition. According to reporting from GPOne cited by Motociclismo, the machine is powered by an in-house 997 cc V4 engine developed directly by the brand. Published performance figures indicate that the powerplant produces over 210 hp, reaches a maximum engine speed of 15,000 rpm, and achieves a top speed exceeding 315 km/h.
Active Aerodynamics and Chassis Architecture
The motorcycle features fully adjustable Öhlins suspension components alongside an announced dry weight of approximately 180 kg. To manage aerodynamic performance, the design incorporates an active aerodynamics system utilizing independently controlled movable elements described by GPOne. The machine is also equipped with a patented adjustable frame reinforcement mechanism.
Team Leadership and Modena Testing Programme
Sporting operations and racing management for the Superbike venture are directed by Aspar Martinez, who is responsible for logistics, team governance, and competition organisation. Track testing is currently centered in Modena, where Matteo Ferrari serves as the sole test rider leading development alongside the squad. Ferrari concurrently maintains his racing role in the Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP) with WRP Ducati and CFMOTO.
WorldSBK Timeline and Unconfirmed 2027 Possibility
The structure is working toward the 2028 World Superbike (WorldSBK) championship campaign as its main competitive objective. Regarding an earlier debut, industry sources cited by GPOne view an appearance before September 2027 as highly improbable. Paddock sources nevertheless admit the possibility of an initial outing when the championship returns from its summer break, scheduled for September 2027. Such an appearance would serve to accumulate track mileage and collect technical information on the V4SR-RR under competition conditions, representing a preparatory phase for 2028 rather than a confirmed debut date.
