Lewis Hamilton has stated that he has no intention of setting an age limit on his Formula 1 career, keeping open the possibility of racing in Rwanda when the prospective event joins the calendar in the early 2030s. The inaugural Rwandan Grand Prix is scheduled for 2031, and the 41-year-old is not ruling out retaining a place on the starting grid when the venue arrives.

Hamilton explained in an interview with Corriere della Sera that he continues to feel capable of extending his racing career well beyond his current Ferrari contract, which runs through 2027. When asked specifically about the prospective Rwanda Grand Prix scheduled to begin in 2031, the seven-time champion noted that Formula 1 has seen nobody like him across its 70-year history, remarking that he is "built differently from the others."

Addressing perceptions regarding age in motorsport, Hamilton acknowledged that future years will bring unpredictable physical challenges, yet he noted that the discipline is also filled with preconceptions about older competitors. To demonstrate that age has not blunted his abilities, he pointed to his performance during the recent race in Austin, maintaining that his reaction times there proved faster than those registered by younger drivers.

Hamilton highlighted that modern competitors have access to a substantial number of tools to continuously train both mind and body, explaining that sustained longevity at the highest level ultimately depends on a driver's willingness to sacrifice everything else. Affirming that he remains in love with Formula 1 and feels fully competitive at 41, his stance arrives as Sergio Perez confirmed that his new Cadillac contract, which carries him close to age 40, will be his last in the championship.
