The Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA) is in full swing, and manufacturers are showing out this year. CFMoto, recognized as one of the busiest brands at EICMA, has also rolled out its newest creations. Headlining that rollout, the record-setting superbike is finally out in the open as the all-new CFMoto V4SR-RR. While pre-launch anticipation relied on photos of the bike covered in camo, the motorcycle has shed that disguise to appear in all its glory, building upon previously confirmed specifications gathered before the launch.
Superbike Styling and Chassis Hardware
In terms of design, the machine displays proper superbike styling with a mean aesthetic that looks fast. The front end is adorned by sleek headlamps together with aggressive-looking wings. Along the fairings, V4SR decals are prominently displayed, while twin Akrapovic exhaust pipes are positioned high at the rear. In standard trim, the V4SR-RR comes loaded with equipment: it sits on a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension setup, gets Brembo Hypure Sport brakes, and rides on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 tires.
V4 Powertrain and Prototype Performance
Underneath the bodywork, the motorcycle does not merely look fast but is fast, as the prototype bike was able to hit 315.82kph. That velocity is achieved with its 997cc 90-degree V4 engine. While CFMoto has unfortunately yet to reveal specific performance figures, the V4 produces more than 210hp and features a 15,000rpm redline.
Track-Focused Edition and Platform Evolution
Riders can take things up a notch with the track-focused V4SR-RR Carbon Black, which adds extensive carbon-fiber bodywork, Gilles Tooling components, and a MotoGP-derived STM dry slipper clutch. The finished machine highlights impressive progress made by CFMoto over the past few years; a couple of EICMA shows ago, this new platform was still under development, when the bike was basically still an engine. While there is no word on pricing yet, attention turns to how CFMoto's first superbike will stack up against established nameplates from legacy brands.
