Ducati Acclaim for Historic MotoGP Benchmark

Ducati has praised Marc Márquez following his commanding premier-class form, highlighting the Spaniard as one of the most impressive champions in MotoGP history after a dramatic turnaround in his campaign. The Italian manufacturer pointed to Márquez's exceptional riding abilities and mental strength, noting with regard to his dominance that a champion of such calibre had not existed until now in any era of the sport. After overcoming severe injury and missed rounds earlier in the season, Márquez reversed the championship in his favor, prompting numerous reactions from motorsport experts and fans as he heads the standings.

Injury Comeback and Season Turning Point

Márquez's campaign endured an arduous opening when a heavy crash during the sprint race at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans left him with serious injuries. The setback necessitated double surgery, forcing the Spaniard to sit out the Sunday feature race in France as well as the following race meeting at Montmeló. He initiated his recovery at Mugello, salvaging 14 championship points despite lingering physical limitations. The decisive turning point of his season unfolded at Balaton Park in Hungary, where a string of impressive results triggered a rapid recovery of his points deficit.

Overcoming Bezzecchi Deficit and Aprilia Threat

From trailing then-championship leader Marco Bezzecchi by 102 points, Márquez reversed the situation to build a 44-point advantage over Jorge Martín at the summit of the overall standings. His climb featured a sequence of five consecutive victories and seven Sunday triumphs in total. During this phase of the season, rival contenders from Aprilia made multiple mistakes. Although Aprilia's RS-GP26 motorcycle demonstrated dominant pace across most circuits, that performance was ultimately not enough to halt Márquez's momentum.

Paddock Praise From Tardozzi and Rigamonti

Ducati team hierarchy expressed enthusiastic acclaim following Márquez's performance at Sepang. Team manager Davide Tardozzi congratulated the rider on another flawless race, stating that a champion of such calibre had not existed in any era until now, while adding that Márquez surprises him anew each time with his physical fitness and mentality. Tardozzi also emphasized the immense significance of the Marc-Ducati partnership. Ducati technical chief Marco Rigamonti described Márquez as a genius and a completely rounded competitor who blends raw talent, astute race management, and generosity. Rigamonti noted that working with Márquez provides added motivation to the entire team because he commits maximum effort regardless of the circumstances.

Dall'Igna Tactical Analysis and Lusail Outlook

Ducati chief engineer Gigi Dall’Igna drew particular attention to Márquez's tactical maturity and strategic decision-making during race weekends. Dall’Igna pointed to the sprint in Malaysia, where Márquez deliberately elected to remain behind rivals to minimize unnecessary risk—a calculating approach Dall’Igna stressed is reserved only for elite riders. In Sunday's main event, Márquez executed a controlled yet rapid performance under demanding conditions. Dall’Igna highlighted the profound value of building team cohesion around a competitor possessing extensive experience in premier-class title battles. Looking toward the season's conclusion after Sepang, Márquez approaches the upcoming weekend at Lusail positioned to potentially clinch his tenth world championship if he increases his advantage over Martín by 30 points or over Bezzecchi by eight points, with Ducati confident in its collective experience and Márquez's individual brilliance.
