Commercial Activations and Alpine Partnership
The commercial buildup to the São Paulo Grand Prix has prompted major sponsorship and engagement initiatives across the Brazilian market, with e-commerce platform Mercado Livre, consumer goods manufacturer Wap, and insurer Porto rolling out campaigns centered on Formula 1. Leveraging the event at Interlagos, the brands have developed commercial activations that combine trackside visibility with digital customer engagement and sales generation. In the paddock, Wap and Mercado Livre secured a visibility agreement with Alpine that places both company logos on the halo and bodywork of the team's cars throughout practice sessions and the main Grand Prix in Brazil. The campaign, structured by advertising division Mercado Ads, is designed to convert television broadcast viewers directly into visitors for Wap's official storefront on the marketplace using targeted digital media formats.
E-Commerce Integration and Executive Perspectives
Executives behind the commercial collaboration highlighted the connection between motorsport exposure and digital retail performance. Paulo Sanford, chief executive officer of Wap and WAAW by Alok, characterized joining Mercado Livre alongside Alpine as an essential strategic move that combines operational data precision with racing emotion to reinforce the company's positioning around innovation and high performance. Sanford noted that Mercado Livre represents the manufacturer's primary digital sales channel, enabling the campaign to bridge worldwide sporting exposure with measurable customer conversion both within and beyond the platform. Renata Herz, agency director for Mercado Ads in Brazil, explained that the partnership demonstrates how commercial touchpoints can be translated into concrete business opportunities, providing brands with discovery and conversion while demonstrating advertising impact across every stage of the sales funnel.
Porto Team Radio Fan Engagement
In another motorsport initiative, insurance company Porto launched a dedicated promotional campaign titled Porto Team Radio in support of Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto. Mimicking the radio communications used between racing teams and drivers, the project allows supporters to send messages of encouragement to Bortoleto via WhatsApp, with centralized access coordinated through the company's application. Oliver Haider, marketing director at Porto, stated that motorsport holds a singular ability to unite audiences around a shared passion, adding that the goal of the initiative is to transform spectator enthusiasm into direct participation by gathering supportive messages from across the country so Bortoleto feels nationwide encouragement at every phase of his journey.
Formula 1 Car City Tour
Beyond digital messaging, Porto also took its Grand Prix promotion onto local streets on Saturday, 31, transporting a replica Formula 1 racing car across São Paulo. The show car traveled through the state capital mounted on the bed of one of the company's operational tow trucks. The promotional route took the vehicle through several prominent urban landmarks and cultural destinations, including Pinacoteca, Pacaembu, Avenida Paulista, Faria Lima, Oscar Freire, and Ibirapuera Park, engaging local residents and motorsport enthusiasts throughout the city.
